Everest Rope Climb

 The Challenge
Taking on the Everest Rope Climb is no small feat. Our team of four will be continuously climbing a 4.5‑metre rope for 24 hours, working in rotation with one goal in mind: to collectively reach the full height of Mount Everest 8,849 metres.
That means hour after hour, climb after climb, pushing through fatigue, burning arms, and sheer determination to keep going. It’s a test of endurance, teamwork, and mental grit. By the end, we’ll have climbed the equivalent of standing on top of the world all from the ground of our gym at CrossFit SY1
Why We’re Doing It
We’re taking on this challenge to support Teenage Cancer Trust, the only UK charity dedicated to providing specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer.
Teenage Cancer Trust exists because cancer care was never designed with young people in mind. Without their work, a teenager or young adult diagnosed today could find themselves treated on a children’s ward or alongside much older adults, at a time in life when they need something different.
The charity funds specialist nurses, youth workers, and dedicated hospital units within the NHS, ensuring young people aged 13–24 receive care that’s sensitive, age‑appropriate, and tailored to their unique needs. Their support helps young people stay connected, stay themselves, and feel less alone during the toughest moments of their lives.
